About Catherine Browne
Catherine Browne creates beautiful Embroidered Art using creative machine embroidery and by stitching layer upon layer of stitches to build up the effect of a black and white photograph. (many people have been known to do a double take when they see the work as they look so like real photographs from afar). This process is labour intensive and consumes a large amount of thread. (her artwork can have anywhere between 45,000 to 200,000 stitches plus, depending on size of the art work) but the outcome speaks for itself.
Only quality thread is used which is a durable natural fibre and the image will not fade like some “real” photographs.
Catherine’s art works are mounted with a bevelled mount and then into a black frame (which can be hung or placed on a flat surface) which really makes the embroidered artwork Pop!
