Artist Statement by Marc Peters

Hello, I am a 26 year old living in Lanarkshire. I have always had a passion for art even as a youngster. After leaving school I studied at City of Glasgow College from 2011 - 2014 where I studied Applied Arts and graduated with a HND in Art Glass Design and Production. During this time I was recognised for my outstanding creativity in design and production of a leaded stained glass panel which won me the Incorporation of Wrights Award at Trades House, Glasgow.

After finishing college, I had 5 years’ experience working with a stained glass company. During this time I set up my own glass business which I ran on a part-time basis from my garden shed. I have vast experience with domestic, public, gallery and TV/film fused and stained glass work. Projects include Outlander (TV Series), Saint Luke’s (Barras Glasgow), Saint Mary’s Church (Hamilton), Ault Wharrie House (Private House, Dunblane) and various other public and domestic works.

Due to the success of my part-time business I am now fully self-employed and have been able to expand and move from my garden shed to my own premises in Glasgow. This has allowed me to be even more creative as I now have time to work on my designs. I have been supplying galleries for 5 years and am now able to supply further afield. I have also been able to create my “Celebrating Scotland” range which is proving to be very popular. Due to the expansion of my business premises I am able to take on larger traditional stained glass commissions and restoration work. I specialise in designing and creating bespoke unique commission pieces.
